I have been an artist all my life, from making my own paper dolls to building my own little house on the prairie with popsickle sticks.... designing and sewing my own clothes to painting murals on my walls. Creativity is an inherent part of my personality. It's fun!

Easter Eggs

The Batik process is unfamiliar to many people and whenever I try to explain it, I sometimes get bogged down in the details. It can be a long process, the way I do it. But this time of year, I am reminded of Easter Eggs, and how that process is very much like what I do with Batik- except I am not painting the wax on eggs, I use fabric. The process is repeated several times to create the intricate layers of color and design that make a finished batik unique.
Happy Easter, and Passover to all!
